Production Titles:
We choose the name "Roster Production" as we wanted our film to seem quite indie, and for a niche audience. We also found that most English companies did films this way, so to also connote an English feel towards the production company, we choose an object/thing, this being a rooster, to do this; as roosters are in relation to farms, which Britain is quite stereotyped for.

I decided to create the logos and titles as I had the skill and knowledge of the programmes that I could use to create them. I used a digital programme called Corel Photo paint where I choose an image of a rooster of the internet, copied it and then changed the colours to fit our ideas. I also then added the text underneath and tried out different fonts and styles to create the logo.
Our group had decided that the final one would be out of the second and the third. This is because of the font that I had used more than anything as we thought it fitted in with a more traditional/ typical look. Two of our group liked the second as the image of the rooster was more representative of what one does, whereas the other two members of the group liked the third one better because of the simplicity of the image and that the colours red and white represent the English flag. We finally decided to use the third one as the final idea, this is because it had more valid reasons for being he final one and also, after discussing, it had the majority of the vote. (to get rid of the side checkered areas of the side, we may have to crop it or add an effect to get rid of theseDistribution Titles:
We choose to use the name “Bel-Air Entertainment” as from research, we had found out that most of the best media companies are based within America, and since Bel-Air is a place in American, we thought that this would be suitable.
I decided to create the logos and titles as I had the skill and knowledge of the programmes that I could use to create them. I used a digital programme called Corel Photo paint where I choose an image of a crown of the internet, copied it and then changed the colours to fit our ideas. I also then added the text underneath and tried out different fonts and styles to create the logo.
Our group have chosen two favourite titles from the six I had created. The first is the bottom right corner one. This has been chosen as it is very up to date and modern and the grey background seems to work well. The other is the centred one, this one has been chosen because it has a more traditional feel to it and also looks and relates to original title/ logos that some of us have seen before. Shooting;
We decided to use a crown to represent as a logo for this company as we thought that it would connote the richness and wealth of the company. And also from research, we found that most companies have a logo, so we thought it would be fitting to have one for our distribution company. We also gathered that “Entertainment is used a lot within new companies of distribution, so to keep up with the trends; we decided to change ours from “Bel-Air Distribution” to “Bel-Air Entertainment”.
Thursday 23rd Feb.
Do the speed dating scenes where there is a lot going on and there are a lot of people needed within the scenes. We have planned to do this with a free and a media lesson and plan to get the shots where there is the group within the speed dating area and then also the shot where there are the background characters in fast forward and the main female character is at normal speed, and also the poin of view shot of the main female character of the fast foward background characters being within the speed dating situation.
Friday 24th Feb.
Here we have planned to do the street scenes which are at the end of the project. This would be during our media lesson which is period five in the afternoon. We hope that the weather is quite dull, but if not we can use editing skills to create a sense of dull-ness. The only characters that will be needed would be the main female character and the main male character from the establiching shot.
Thursday 1st March.
Yet again we have planned to use the isolation room to do the other speed dating shoots. This time they will be the convosations and shot reverse shots of the main female character and also the main male characters whom are the stereotypes. It is not yet decided wether we are having five or four male characters as this is dependant on how long each cut away scene lasts. (IMPORTANT: the main female character MUST wear atleast the same clother thoughout these and the last shot scenes.
Saturday 3rd/Sunday 4th March.
We plan to shot the rest of the scenes within our project on this/these day/days. The location will be at one of our team members houses where we shall be shooting the cut away scenes and also the establiching shot. We shall use the door to shot the establishing shot of our project. We have made sure that everyone is avalible this day for filming and tried to avoid using people that are not in our group but other characters on this day.
These below are my story boards of our final idea and plan. (Some of the shots may change when it comes to filming)
Possible Locations:
This location is at one of our group's member's house. This could be used within the chav character cut away where the senario is a typical slob sitting watching t.v whilst the main character is on the other side of the sofa.
This is also a location that is at one of our group's members's house. This location will be used for our establiching shot within our piece.
This location is of a banch within our college's grounds, it would be used for the final scene within or piece. (this is not certain as with this seat, we cannot creat the shot behind and below the bench as there is a wall in the way)
This location is the isolation room within our college. We could use this for the main setting within are piece which would be the speed dating room, as it has chairs and seats and also is a room that is not in use all the time.
This location is of a tennis court. This would be used within the sports character cut away. We would most likly film it in more iftting weather conditions.
Possible Characters:
Sean:
Possible "chav" character, "fit" person or "sports".

Emily:
Possible main character
Possible "Posh", "Ex", "Sports" character.
Possible "Geek", "Posh", "Ginger" character.
Caz:
Possible main character or side best friend character.
Robbie:
Possible "Geek", "Posh", Ginger" character.
Matthew:
Possible "Geek", "Posh", Ginger" character.
Final Idea
Speed dating idea:
Possible loctaions:
-Recreate at someone's home
-Recreate at college
-Use actual place needed
-Village hall
Actors/Actresses:
-The one main character who is going to be female (Research from questionaire supports that this is the best gendre to have the main character for our project)
-Six to seven side characters (All are going to be male, for the sense of a rom-com)
-Possible best friend character?
Stereotypes for males roles: Issues why she doesn't choose them:
-"Fit"-bodied person -Vain
-Ginger -Ginger family/childern
-Geek -Boring, not interesting
-Stuck up/Posh -Vain, Getting no attention?
-Chav/gangster -Immature, druggy, Ally setting?
-Sports -Not into womens things, playign a harsh sport
Soundtrack:
Something up beat but not to main stream (Research shows that rom-coms are more niache type films)
e.g. something with a guitar and/or piano. The music should only slightly be heard when the voiceover is in place, and when the voiceover is not there, the music is at a normal level of volume.
-The voiceover will be of the main character and not within the cut aways. (If the actor/actoress is unsure of her/his voice, there maybe a possibility of using someone elses voice)
Costume:
-Main character, attractive (stereotypical for films, protagonist= good looking)
-Quite up to date clothing (I.e. the current fashion of vintage and "indie" that has arose within younger aged cultures)
-Each male role will have a fitting outfit towards which stereotype they are.
Storyline:
First set of scenes (Distribution and Production companies)
-"Bel-Air Distribution" America has the better and more powerful distribution companies so we names it after a city/town there.
-" Productions"
First scene (establishing shot)
-Starts with a door, slightly zooming out and the voiceover starts to come in. Once reached the limits of the zoom out, the door opens to a person with flowers and hte door slams in the persons face. (The comedy element of this will be within the voiceover, a quote or something whity about love will be said)

Ideas
Idea 1:
Speed Dating.
-One main character (The girl)
-Three to fiven (All male)
-Maybe one best friend (A girl)
Voiceover of main character thoughout most of the piece
For each change of male character within the speed dating process, there will be a cut away into a scene of what the main character imagens her life to be with that character.
Each male will be a stereotype of different socail backgrounds, for example; we could have a Ginger person and theen the main character imagens her life being okay, but then notices that she will have ginger childern.
The titles will go through when these cuts away are in place.#
Props:
A light (for table)
A table
Two chairs
Location:
Public place (e.g. Pub)
(or could recreate a public place)
Other places that fit the stereotyped male.
Costumes:
Would also contrast with the socil group.
Actors:
Take pictures of a wide range of possible people that can play the roles and see who would fit each role better than others. (Will need atleast 20 possible people so that we have atleast one certain and one reserve for each role)
Idea 2:
First day at work.
-One main character (boy or girl)
-One side character (boy or girl depending on the main character)
-Four to five background characters
Voiceover to be used (so that is more easy to understand the storyline)
First day at work at a busy office.Second character is the obvious person that the main character has a romance for. Starts of with her/him waking up and going through most key stages of the day (mainly typical things that will ocurr within a first day at work), ending with her either at home exhuasted and worn out or in bed.
Props:
-Briefcase
-Alram clock
-Bed
-Drink/coffee
Location:
-Changes throughout a lot (Around about four-five changes)
-Keys ones:
-Office
-Home
Costumes:
-One main outfit being the suit
- Changes quite a lot at the start as the person is undicided
Actors:
-Need to representative of everyday noraml people (including the backgroun characters)
Idea 3.
Events of the morning:
-Either one or two main characters (could be together or room mates)
No vioceover and possibaly no vioce at all (narrative can be shown through actions)
Possibaly a continuous shot all the way through shows main actions of the day e.g. getting up, breakfast, getting dressed (maybe not showing their face, only otehr parts of their body)
Props:
-Everyday obejcts that are found in the house
-Clothes
-Coffee
Location;
-A typical living space/home/apartment
Actors:
-Since there is only two and only their bodies can be seen, we can use people out of our group or just anyone we can get to play the role.
